Game Changers

Quick nuggets of information that make the Bible come alive.

We are under the topic of Bible college so let's do some Bible learnin'.  You know what I really like is when someone takes all that Bible scholarly stuff and makes it helpful to me.  Help me understand stuff the way the original audience did, because in my experience, there is way more in the Bible than we could ever imagine.  Just show me where to start digging.  A good example of this is the book, Case for Christ by Lee Strobel.  That wasn’t new information.  He just made it readable and relatable.  His books are so good that they are now sold in bulk to just pass out to all your friends.  Another favorite of mine is Ray Vander Laan.  His videos take you to the place that a Bible event happened where he loads you up with historical and cultural information and makes the Bible come alive … like instead of hearing a list of dos and don’t from God, you hear God saying, “I love you.”  That makes a big difference.  I want more of that so I can see what God intended.  I heard people call the Bible a living thing, so let’s make that a goal, make the Bible come alive.  And as it comes alive and you hear God’s message you should feel his spirit invading your soul, changing you and moving you to pour His love on to others.  Below are some nuggets that I have dug up over the years that helped me unpack God's message and often utter, "Are you serious?"  I'm only going to include things that may have you uttering the same.
