GIVING THEM THE SKILLS TO THRIVE

The Freedom Fund was created to provide valuable training and apprenticeship opportunities for those in need of MADE FREE jobs. Most of the extremely poor and vulnerable that are in need of life-changing work don’t have the skills to make MADE FREE products. Unlike mainstream brands who use traditional factories, the MADE FREE model is designed to provide well-paying livable wage jobs in a clean, safe, and healthy team environment for those with the greatest need.  This allows those we serve to thrive in and outside of work and the ability to provide living essentials such as shelter, food, clothing, education and medical care for themselves and their family.

 

To accomplish this, we have developed a 12 month training and apprenticeship program. Candidate women are selected and provided room, board and all the skill training required to graduate as certified MADE FREE Makers.

PROGRAM INCLUDES

​

• General Needs:

  • Housing

  • Healthy meals

  • Outdoor recreation

  • English language studies

  • Uniform

  • Income for incidentals

​

• Technical Skills:

  • Pattern making

  • Machine stitching

  • Basic fashion design

  • Leather cutting and stitching

  • Bag construction.

​

• Experienced Leadership:

  • Classes are led by a skilled leader with established experience in making world class quality bags and accessories.

  • With hands-on instruction and leadership, students learn best-in-practice techniques and quality systems to help them achieve certification.

PROGRAM GOALS

Once certified, graduates of the program transition into a skilled production and leadership roles making MADE FREE’s quality products for the global market.

OPPORTUNITIES TO CHANGE A LIFE

• $150 provides for 1 month of program for 1 student

• $450 provides for 3 months of program for 1 student

• $900 provides for 6 months of program for 1 student

• $1,800 provides full funding to complete the program for 1 student

• $975 provides beds, sheets, and the necessary updates to create additional space on campus for 1 woman in training (one-time investment)

100% DIRECT BENEFIT

Unlike most non-profit giving,100% of funding goes directly to benefit the students. Program overhead is paid for through other sources.​
